A netizen named Ssirc Htiaf recently took to Facebook to rant about what her grandmother allegedly experienced while under the care of Rizal Medical Center.
The netizen revealed in her open letter how her grandmother spent two days in the emergency room because the hospital ran out of space in the wards. Her trust in the medical practitioners started to wane when she noticed doctors and nurses sleeping on the job every morning. When she complained about the nasogastric tube (NGT), the doctor she talked to just went back to sleep.
“Sinugod po si nanay sa ospital ng MAY 21,2018 3:00pm tumagal po sya sa ER for two days dahil sa kadahilanan na wala p daw bakante sa WARD. from the first day nya sa ER ganito ang normal routine ng mga doctors at nurse. pag dating ng 2:30 am untill 4:30am mahimbing ang tulog …
That’s when she decided to take photos of the sleeping medical practitioners. The netizen said in her open letter that she understood how taxing the medical profession was — she just doesn’t get why everyone takes sleeping breaks all at the same time.
In the end, her grandmother did not make it out of the medical center alive. She is now calling the attention of the government, whom she believes is partly responsible because the medical practitioners who allegedly neglected her grandmother are on the government’s payroll.
