Philadelphia Police arrested 2 black men at Starbucks while white people were defended them and demanded the officers free them.

After the incident, Starbucks apologized for calling the police on the 2 men after they wanted to use the bathroom without ordering any food.

According to reports, the 2 black men from Pennsylvania were at the Starbucks on 18th and Spruce Street in Philadelphia, where they were waiting for another friend to arrive.

They did not want to order anything before their friend arrived and they needed to use the restroom. An employee asked the men to leave, but they refused.

Police were called and 6 officers showed up. They again asked the men to leave, and when they refused, the two were arrested.

Meanwhile, several white people who watched the black men getting arrested were outraged and demanded to know why they were being arrested.

“This is ridiculous. What did they get called for? Because they were two black guys sitting here and meeting? Well, what did they do? Someone tell me what they did,” one man asked the police.

“They didn’t do anything and I saw the entire thing,” said a woman. Customer Melissa DePino who recorded the arrest took to Twitter to speak out about the incident.

She wrote: “The police were called because these men hadn’t ordered anything. They were waiting for a friend to show up,

who did as they were taken out in handcuffs for doing nothing.

“All the other white people are wondering why it’s never happened to us when we do the same thing.”

The police commissioner said that the officers acted properly and did nothing wrong when they arrested the two men who refused to leave when they were reportedly told to do so.

Starbucks has since apologized and did not press charges against the men who were later released from custody.

“We apologize to the two individuals and our customers. We are disappointed this led to arrests.

“We take these matters seriously and clearly have more work to do when it comes to how we handle incidents in our stores.

“We are reviewing our policies and will continue to engage with the community and the police department to try to ensure these types of situations never happen in any of our stores,” Starbuck said in a statement.
